So Aiden was really sick weds night.
Well my Saturday plans are now shot. The stomach bug that A had Weds has been passed to me as of 3:00 this morning. It's been a very bad night for me.

H & A are still likely off to a g'day for little Alex.

I will be doing the apple juice, saltine, netflix, sleep regimine.

I will be checking AIM and texts all day (while conscious)
Human interaction would be nice. (I may be slow to respond)

If I appear on AIM as offline MSG me anyways. My iPhone AIM sometimes shows me offline even when I am logged in.

    Waves and hugs

Not that I'm expecting many (any) responses...
Do you use Twitter? When and How? I guess I should ask your ID if you are on it.

    Just curious.

    Good parenting in action
We went on a day trip today. Our plan was to go to Port Townsend by way of the Mulketeo-Clinton Ferry to Whidbey Island. The Keystone Ferry however had a 2 ferry waiting list. So... we optend to just drive up Whidbey.

A few years ago we drove up there and stumbled onto a carnival at a local park that had a playground. The carnival wasn't there this year. But the park was quite nice. It had some wonderful equiptment for [info]aiden_freeman to climb on. It also had two great slides. (See the new pictures in my Aiden 18-24 month LJ gallery)

One of the nice attractions of the park was a small controlled lake area that fed off the sound. It had a water slide, a swimming area, and plastic paddle boats you could rent for $5/ 1/2 hr. All three of us got life jackets and we rode around the lake.

    Aiden was in his glee.

Below is probably one of my favourite photos to date of him. He is so full of happiness, life, and intelligence.

I think we're doing a quite fine job with him.

How to unnerve people on line
I'm standing on a long line in front of a pair of Asian women. They began carrying on a conversation in <<Insert glyph based language I sure as hell don't know>>. Normally, when on line, if you hear a conversation near you, you casually acknowledge it and may jump in or pay attention to it.. if it seems appropriate.

While the U.S. doesn't have a standard, primary language... I find the use of non-English in the US is a way for a group to cordon themselves off. It sets up an intentional wall in a manner similar to installing a fence around your yard.

While language may be foreign... tone, body language, aren't.

I found myself paying attention to the conversation I didn't understand. I was riding along with the tone. And found myself chuckling at a pause point that felt like a humourous statement.

I found the one woman unnerved that I chuckled with her friend. It was as if I'd walked through her gate. She seemed to be wondering. "Oh, crap. Does he speak my language?"

So not eavesdropping. But a very interesting sociological and psychological experiment.
